Friendship Feast

To celebrate friendship, giving and sharing, my class, along with Ms. Fleming's kindergarten class, planned a Friendship Feast.

We created invitations and gave them to the students in Ms. Fleming's class to invite them to our feast on Tuesday, November 23. Ms. Fleming's class created invitations to also invite teachers and administrators to our feast.

In preperation for the feast, we prepared a variety of foods together: applesauce, mashed potatoes and pumpkin cookies. With the help of many generous donations from families, the rest of the food and supplies were provided for the feast.

Before we knew it, the day of our Friendship Feast had arrived! We prepared our room for guests that would be soon arriving.

Together we gathered in room 207. We began our celebration by joining hands and sharing what we each were thankful for.

We then sang a song of thanks before sitting down to enjoy the food!

After reading the menu for the feast, our wonderful visitors helped serve all of the delicious food!

We were very thankful that our Superintendent, Dr. Clifford and Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Campbell, Mrs. Coberly, Mrs. Pohl, Miss Fricke, Mrs. Martin, Mr. Dave, and Mrs. Hall-Alt joined us for our feast and even helped serve food and slice our turkey!

The children did a great job using their manners during our feast: waiting until everyone was served to eat, using many "'pleases" and "no, thank yous".

After our main course, we then enjoyed several deserts, such as these cute turkey cupcakes!

The feast was a huge success! The students truly were able to see their hardwork pay off, enjoy time with old and new friends, as well as learn how good it feels to share with others.

Happy Thanksgiving!
