Each day of our study, we focused on different aspects of Arctic penguins. We learned about four different species of Arctic penguins: Adelie, Chinstrap, Gentoo and Emperor.
Through different forms of non-fiction research (books, internet, videos) we answered the following questions:
- What are the different parts of a penguin?
- What do penguins eat?
- How do penguins stay warm?
- How do penguins move?
- What is the best penguin beak shape?
- Are you taller or shorter than Arctic penguins?
We created our very own non-fiction Arctic penguin journals that included all of our research and documentation from the study.
We collaborated with the Youth Leadership Board and created life-size Arctic penguins out of different materials.
To end our study of Arctic penguins, we created penguins out of play dough. The following video shares our learning of Arctic penguins. Enjoy!
